Convergent boundaries produce large regions of metamorphic rocks (regional metamorphism).  Only divergent boundaries produce rift valleys and mid-ocean ridges.  Hotspots and divergent boundaries produce basaltic lava flows.  Some convergent boundaries produce volcanoes and trenches, but only those that involve at least one oceanic plate.  Convergent continental-continental boundaries produce mountains which are two thick for magma to make it to the surface and form volcanoes.
