      Comments:
      1. The latest version of Dreamweaver is:
        1. 1 Adobe Dreamweaver CS5.5
        2. 2 Adobe Dreamweaver CS5
        3. 3 Adobe Dreamweaver CS4
        4. 4 Macromedia Dreamweaver 8
        1. Adobe Dreamweaver CS5.5 is the latest, latest version of this Web design program. The last four versions of the program are listed in order in the question. If you are still using a version with MX in the title, you definitely need to upgrade, and when you do, the higher the version the better.

      2. Dreamweaver is sold by what software company:
        1. Adobe
        2. Macromedia
        3. Microsoft
        4. No company, the program simply appeared one day on the web.
        1. Answer: Adobe bought Dreamweaver from Macromedia, which is why the name changes from Macromedia Dreamweaver MX and 8 to the more recent Adobe Dreamweaver CS2, CS3, CS4, CS5, etc. Today Adobe includes this Web design program in the Creative Suite (CS) with other popular programs, including Photoshop and Illustrator. No cherubs were harmed during the coding process in Nirvana. They were, however, fed Jolt Cola and pizza.

      3. You can use Dreamweaver to create:
        1. HTML, XML, and CSS files
        2. PHP, Java, and ASP.NET
        3. The new space-time continuum format STCML
        4. all of the above, except the space-time continuum thing...
        1. Answer: All of the 'formats' listed in this question can be created in Dreamweaver. You can create lots of things in this complex program, from text and HTML pages, to CSS style sheets, PHP, and almost any other web format in use today (or under development in alternate dimensions).

      4. HTML tags are surrounded by:
        1. brackets < ... >
        2. parenthesise ( ... )
        3. quote marks " ..."
        4. Fire-breathing dragons who try to keep you away from tags
        1. Answer: HTML includes open and close tags contained in brackets <>. Close tags include a forward slash /. For example, the Heading 3 tag is used to format a headline like this

<h3>Dreamweaver designer surrenders after stand-off with dragon slayer</h3>

      5. You can save images for the Web in these formats:
        1. JPG, GIF, PNG
        2. PSD, Tiff
        3. Flickr
        4. ftp, fla, jsp
        1. Answer: JPEG, GIF, and PNG are all great Web formats. (JPEG is best for photos and images with millions of colors; GIF/PNG are best for line art, cartoons, and graphics with few colors). PSD files are Photoshop images and Tiff files are better suited to print. Flickr is a great website to share your photos, but not a format.

      6. The first page of a web site should most commonly be named:
        1. home.html
        2. index.html or default.htm depending on the server
        3. MySite.html
        4. Something cool, so the other sites will not make fun of it
        1. Answer: In most cases index.html is the right answer, butmany servers that run the Windows operating system use default.htm.

What you should name the first page in your site depends on the web server you use to host your site. Most servers are set up to recognize index.html as the first page. You can name the rest of the files in your site almost_whatever_you_want.html, just don't include any spaces or special characters in file names (dashes and underscores are okay).

Note: If you're working on a site that uses dynamic programming, such as PHP, files will end with an extension based on the programming language, such as .php. In that case, the main page of the site would be named index.php.

      7. The </h1> is an opening tag.
        1. True
        2. False
        3. Do I have to learn HTML tags?
        4. Close your darn tags! Were you born in a barn?
        1. Answer: The tag shownin the question is a close tag. You can tell by the forward slash / included between the brackets.

One of the advntages of Dreamweaver is that you do not have to learn HTML to create web pages, but it is helpful to understand the basics of how HTML works.Viewing the code in Split or Code views in Dreamweaver is helpful if you run into conflicts and need to troubleshoot your work.

      8. Bonus question: What is the refrain of the pop hit single Dreamweaver by Gary Wright
        1. Tomorrow, tomorrow, there's always tomorrow...
        2. You never count your money ...
        3. Yesterday, all my troubles seemed so far away...
        4. Dream weaver, I believe you can get me through the night
        1. They are all lines in the song, but the last option is the refrain.

Question: Has anyone ever sung that to you in an effort to be ironic and funny when you told them you use Dreamweaver?

Answer: No singing in this lesson, and the quiz is over, but you can learn more at www.DigitalFamily.com!
